About the Role

Reporting to the Executive Chef and Head Chef, the Casual Pastry Chef enjoys creative freedom across a wide range of patisserie components. Working within our central production kitchen, you will produce high-quality desserts and pastry items in accordance with The Fresh Collective's standardised recipes and production systems for premium events and iconic venues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create all facets of desserts—from individual delicacies and slab cakes to bespoke, high-end patisserie dishes
  • Produce pastry and dessert items for corporate boardroom lunches, VIP dinners, and large-scale offsite catering events
  • Manage daily mise en place and ensure accurate, consistent preparation, presentation, and portioning
  • Maintain the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and workplace compliance
  • Collaborate effectively with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and timely execution of orders

About You

  • Patisserie qualifications, Cert IV is highly regarded
  • Prior experience in a 5-star hotel or high-end catering company
  • Minimum 2 years trade experience
  • This position will suit a highly creative and flexible individual who wants to show off their ingenuity outside of a 'cookie-cutter' environment
  • Valid work rights in Australia
