The Fresh Collective is currently recruiting for chefs for one of Sydney’s most exciting annual events – Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour – and this year’s opera is the hugely popular West Side Story.Located within the Botanic Gardens with views out to Sydney Harbour this month-long event offers our staff a working environment like no other. Work in one of 5 kitchens on-site cooking an Porto Rican, Cuban and American inspired menus to our theatre diners.We are seeking experienced culinary professionals with excellent communication and proven cooking skills to join our Fresh family.Roles include;Commis/Demi ChefsChef de Parties30-38 hours are available each week for the duration of the event, with shifts starting from mid-afternoon. You must be able to commit to working for the duration of the event –         20th March-22nd April. We are seeking experienced culinary professionals with excellent communication and proven cooking skills to join our Fresh family.

To be successful you must be

  • Qualified in Commercial Cookery
  • Have 12 months commercial cooking experience as Commis/Demi or Chef de Partie
  • Available Tuesday to Sunday from 15:00 until 22.00
  • Passionate about preparing quality dishes to the highest standards
  • A team player, willing to assist your brigade
  • Available to work from 20th March through till the 22nd April
  • Able to attend a short interview and trial during the weeks of 17 February-8 March 2019
